Just curious, there is a lot of love for the various Robins, here.
So my question is, can you put the five Robins in order from least favorite to most beloved?
No judgments, just wondering.
In this order.
1. Stephanie Brown
1. Tim Drake
1. Jason Todd
1. Damian Wayne
1. Dick Grayson.
See what I did there? They’ve all got the same number, because there’s no way I could chose. Ever.
I love Steph simply because of how hard she tries and how she never takes no/give up/you can’t do this for an answer.
I love Tim, because… honestly his thought process is the most like my own. It’s actually really nice seeing a character in fiction who overthinks and overreacts mentally just like me.
I love Jason because… because I can’t not love him. He was a lot of things, but killing him off just left such a bad taste in my mouth. Why do this to such a bright, eager, kid? It just doesn’t seem right.
Oh Damian how I love thee. You with the bad attitude, temper, and general weird habits. You’re adorable and I love little things like Steph dragging him into a moon bounce for some “fun”. I look forward to watching him grow and develop. Admittedly slightly less so now that Stephanie isn’t actively around to make him act his age. Who’s going to do it now that she can’t?
Ah Dick, he of the unfortunate name. If anything I love him just because I get to make Dick jokes. He’s also the first and admittedly I loved his year one story. He goes through so much trying to be Bruce’s partner that my heart just couldn’t not go out to the boy. I do wish he’d get some time with Steph though, I think the two of them could relate a whole lot on that front. But lol wishful thinking much? Since when did DC bother with things that weren’t much more than “Punch random bad guy X in the face”?
So yes. I just cheated and explained why I love all of them. Could I pick a “favorite of my favorites”? No, not really because I’m a wuss and want to be fair to a bunch of fictional characters and picking one of them out of the others wouldn’t be fair.
